a group of people cooking on a grill outside

Where it all began.

Goutu started the way most good things do — with a craving and no decent option nearby.

In 2019, childhood friends Marco and Diane set up a pop-up grill in Marco's backyard, invited the block, and sold out in two hours.

They didn't plan to open a restaurant. They just wanted a really good burger.

Two years later, they signed a lease on Oak Street and opened Goutu — named after the French word for 'tasty', a nod to Diane's family roots and a promise to every customer that walked through the door.

Every patty is still hand-smashed to order. Every sauce is still made in-house. Nothing has changed except the kitchen is slightly bigger.

"We didn't open Goutu to be a chain. We opened it to be your place."

Our values

Quality First

We source from local farms and grind our own beef daily. If we wouldn't eat it, it doesn't go on the menu.

Community Built

This restaurant exists because the neighborhood showed up. We've never forgotten that.

Keep It Simple

Great ingredients don't need to be hidden. Every recipe has a clear reason to exist.

Good food, good mood.
